MAN continues its relationship with Triple Eight Race Engineering and naming rights partner Red Bull Racing Australia.

Continuing its successful partnership which is now entering its 5th year, MAN Automotive Imports, distributor of MAN trucks & buses, will again continue to support Triple Eight Race Engineering as its ‘Official Transporter’ for the 2014 V8 Supercar season.

Triple Eight Race Engineering are the reigning V8 Supercar Champions after a highly successful season in 2013 finishing in the 1-2 position with drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes respectively and also winning the coveted Team Championship trophy.

MAN’s association and support of this winning team involves fulfilling an important role within the Brisbane-based team.

Two MAN TGX prime movers are tasked with ensuring the Red Bull Racing Australia’s Holden VF Commodores tour the country reliably, safely and comfortably to and from each event.

The two prime movers are TGX 540 models that are ideally suited to the long haul work they will be required to do.

To and from the race track, Warwick our transport driver becomes the most important member of our Team, so our ongoing MAN relationship is vital to the team’s wellbeing.

Not only does he need to arrive safely, but having won the Best Presented Team for three consecutive years, we also give our utmost consideration to the presentation levels that Red Bull expect,” comments Peter Jamieson, Commercial Operations Manager Triple Eight Race Engineering.  “Our TGX’s certainly look the part, plus both our truckies love the power, particularly up the Toowoomba range! We simply cannot recommend highly enough our MAN’s and the service we receive.”

One of the most technologically advanced trucks on the market, the TGX 540 features a 4-valve, 6-cylinder, in-line engine with common rail injection, turbo charging and intercooling, providing an impressive 540hp and 2,500Nm torque.

“With its combination of high power, outstanding ride characteristics and a low tare weight the TGX really is the ideal truck for the task,” said MAN Events Manager, Pat Cook.

Featuring the latest in active and passive safety features the TGX includes a built-in crumple zone, the latest cabin ergonomics, disc brakes all round, Anti Lock Braking system (ABS) and a state of the art Electronic Brakeforce System (EBS) which ensures a shorter emergency stopping distance.

“MAN is proud of the association with Triple Eight Race Engineering and Red Bull Racing Australia.  As with Triple Eight, MAN has a long and storied history of exceptional engineering as well as a history of supporting motorsport worldwide,” Mr Cook added.
