According to the company, driver comfort played a critical role in choosing the MAN model. “The truck has exceptional steering control and feels almost like driving a luxury car, which has been the main feedback from our drivers,” said Michael Mahon, Director of MJ Mahon Transport.
“It also helps that the truck is an automatic, so we leave it up to the vehicle to gear shift, which helps in terms of increasing fuel efficiency, maintenance and just maintaining overall control.”
MJ Mahon also credited MAN’s ongoing support. “The company offered a suitable package that included their staff helping us to understand how to use certain features of the truck in various on-road situations,” he said. “In our latest deal with Penske and MAN, they were able to cement our relationship by customising a service package to suit our needs.”
Since purchasing its first MAN truck in 2004 from Brisbane Truck Centre, MJ Mahon Transport has used several models across its fleet, ranging from MAN TGM rigid trucks to MAN TGX prime movers.
